- Duh! Acrobat is a utility application freely distributed by Adobe that allows
- you to view PDF files on your computer system. PDF files allow a document to
- retain it's formatting regardless of the system it is viewed upon. Acrobat is
- a cross-platform application, with versions for Windows 3.x, Win95/NT, most
- all UNIX variations, Mac, and soon OS/2. Using Acrobat to read the PDF file,
- you can then print it to your printer in it's native language (whatever your
- OS and print driver support).
-
- THAT is why PDF is much more suitable for documentation files than Postscript.
- Postscript would require a Postscript printer, which most people do NOT have
- available.
-
- You can download a free version of Acrobat (and even a Netscape Plug-In
- version) from Adobe's web site.
